It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a very long time. The restaurant is next to the Dan River and provides great views. The food is absolutely incredible... Everything was fantastic! The service was perfect. We will be back when in Danville.

Had an appetizer, dinner and drinks. I had a Mahi Mahi special and my husband had the salmon. We shared the truffle fries and enjoyed those as well. I started with a paper plane cocktail but didn’t quite like it so went the the old fashioned. That was much better. My husband had the pain killer but then also switched to the old fashioned. Nice atmosphere and the service was great. Will return when we are in town.

Had such a lovely dinner here! The crab dip was rich and flavorful, the stuffed flounder was cooked just right, and the key lime pie? Wow — tart, creamy, and the perfect ending to the meal.
Our waitress was excellent — friendly, helpful, and super attentive. You can tell the staff really cares about making sure you have a good experience.
The space itself is gorgeous, cozy yet elegant, and makes the whole evening feel a little special. We left already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a place with amazing seafood, great desserts, and top-notch service, this is definitely it.

My wife and I had a fantastic dining experience at Cotton at Riverside Mill. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a great balance of casual elegance. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed.
As for the food, I had the Brussels sprouts and meatballs, and they were an absolute hit. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and seasoned to perfection, while the meatballs were tender and flavorful, with a sauce that brought everything together wonderfully. My wife had the smashed burger, and she couldn’t stop raving about it. The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and came with a side that complemented it beautifully.
Overall, Cotton at Riverside Mill exceeded our expectations. The food quality, ambiance, and service all contributed to an outstanding dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a casual bite or something a bit more refined, this place delivers. We’ll definitely be back!

Great spot that overlooks the Dan River. Great drink selection & the food was amazing. The staff were super friendly & attentive. Started with the crispy brussel sprouts(so good), had the shrimp & grits for the main(phenomenal), & ended with the peach cobbler (saved the best for last obviously). I attempted to take pics but ate half of everything before I got the pics because everything was so good. When I am back in Danville I'll definitely become a repeat customer at this gem of an establishment!

My wife and I had a terrific meal there two days ago. The service was great as well. We started with the pimento crab dip which was delicious. She had the salmon and I had the pork chop. We both loved the meals. Only draw back was that the did not have any Chardonnay, which was a first for us at a restaurant. We will go back again next time in Danville.

We actually found this restaurant by accident. We were looking for another one that apparently went out of business. This place was absolutely amazing. Our waitress Linda was fantastic. She made the night. Food was outstanding. We highly recommend this place.

Did an 80th birthday dinner with a large party, and everyone loved their food. Fab service (thanks, Katie!), too!
And the Dan River advertising donning the walls? Chef's kiss!
Thank you!

In town for my brother’s wedding and my hotel recommended The Cotton for dinner. I was solo and a little apprehensive about dining alone. The entrance was a little confusing so I thought I was in the wrong place or the restaurant was closed. The hostess was very friendly and asked if I wanted to be seated inside or out. I chose to sit outside on the patio. I was solo glad I did - very nice ambiance despite it being a little chilly. I was greeted warmly and enthusiastic by Abigail. She immediately introduced herself and even asked me my name. That has never, ever experienced a waiter asking me my name. I don’t know if dining alone she wanted to make feel comfortable and that she did! She was an absolute joy! She was so patient about my indecisiveness about what to order. So many choices! I eventually got the chicken sandwich with fries and a glass of Prosecco. Abigail suggested I add pico de gallo to the sandwich and upgrade my fries to truffle fries. I was solo glad I did because it was delicious! But, Abigail was the true superstar! She was attentive, professional and so kind. Thanks for making my solo dinner so enjoyable. I’ll definitely come again when I’m back in town.
